HUGO DRECHOU AND TXELL FIGUERAS WIN THE TRAMUN
LA TRAMUN 2022
17 / 10 / 2022
This weekend took place the Tramun, one of the toughest and most demanding UCI races of the bike-marathon calendar and which is also held very close to home, starting its route in the volcanic area of the Garrotxa and concluding in the city of Girona.
Although this was the 24th edition, the organizers continue to surprise their participants with new trails and really technical sections. On this occasion the riders had to overcome a total of 80 km with 2,700 metres of positive vertical drop and 3,100 metres of negative vertical drop.
Hugo Drechou, Hans Becking, José Días, Peeter Pruus, Guillem Cassú and Txell Figueras represented the BUFF-Megamo Team in this mythical race, demonstrating their skills and elite qualities.
Although Guillem Cassú was leading the race in the first sections of the trail, Hugo Drechou was moving up positions to take the lead of the race. Francesc Guerra was defending the title until the end and did not make it easy for the French rider.
Finally, Hugo Drechou was proclaimed the winner of the race at a very small distance from Guerra. José Días did an extraordinary job and took the bronze medal, while Hans Becking crossed the finish line in fourth place after a great race.
Guillem Cassú also played a fascinating role, who after leading the race for part of the course managed to consolidate sixth place in the Elit category.
On the other hand, in the women's category, Txell Figueras won the gold medal, undoubtedly a more than deserved position for the Catalan runner.
After 5:48:44 hours, Txell has demonstrated her technical qualities and has taken the victory against important rivals such as Greete Steinburg, whom she has taken neither more nor less than 20 minutes of advantage.
On the other side of the coin, Peeter Pruus, who had a fall at the beginning of the race that prevented him from resuming the race, causing him to withdraw.
Congratulations to the whole team for all their hard work and great results, and let's go for the next one!
