MORNING WITH SAMI

CHAPTER 05. WITH SAMI SAURI

It's been a long time that we wanted to go out cycling with Sami. She always has a lot of hassle, so it was not easy to find the day. Until we finally did it.
Besides cycling, we took the opportunity to see the sunrise in Cadaqués, ride along a little bit of the Costa Brava and take a dip in Cala Montjoi, diving too, of course, although Sami is much better at that, ask Roger.

WE START OUR RIDE WITH THE FIRST RAYS OF SUNSHINE

Seeing the sunrise in Cadaqués makes even more evident the fame of this shy and reserved little fishing village. Early in the morning, we understand why it is considered one of the most charming places on the Costa Brava.

The reflection of the white houses in the water places us in a unique postcard: the silence, the tranquility, the boats on the pier...

we feel all its essence in just a few minutes. We see a few people on the streets of Cadaqués. We are not the only ones who have woken up early to enjoy this sight of warm colors that for centuries has been a source of inspiration for prominent artists such as Salvador Dalí.

WE FEEL THE TRAMUNTANA EARLY IN THE MORNING.

Luckily we have left early, the sun begins to show on our skin, and the Tramuntana has appeared to blur any cloud in the sky. It is easy to sense that today will be a hot day. The image of the beach comes to mind, and we start pedaling along the coast. Our goal is to reach Cala Montjoi for breakfast and refresh ourselves.

For today's ride, we have chosen the MegamoTrack, a bike designed to enjoy the speed with maximum comfort. It is undoubtedly the perfect choice for today's route.

There's nothing like feeling the control of your bike in a mountainous route while you visualize the Mediterranean Sea in the background.

The rough road through which we are going to pass crosses the typical landscapes of the area. With the usual physiognomy of the territory, steep and rocky, we also see patches of scrubland, Mediterranean vegetation, and small traditional crops.

We realize that at this time of the year the whole environment is drier than ever. The color of the vegetation itself gives the landscape an even more desert-like air that makes us feel warmer.

WE MOVE FORWARD, WITH THE BLUE TONES OF THE SEA IN THE BACKGROUND.

We continue riding along the coast, we see the cliffs that hide small coves and unreachable beaches, some pine forests on the gentle hills, dirt, and dust that we raise in our path, and finally, we who continue to decipher the route and all its essence on two wheels.

We arrive at Cala Montjoi, in the town of Roses, we stop for breakfast. We settle down on the sand. The heat is still bearable, so we decide to have a coffee and recover energy with some bread and cheese. We needed it after getting up so early... Luckily Sami always has everything under control and brings what we need to recover our energy. In the meantime, the first bathers are arriving, who also want to enjoy the beach.

IT'S TIME TO COOL OFF

Sami loves the water. She is a fan of the flora and fauna that the underwater world hides. Although she also enjoys surfing, today she preferred to bring along her diving goggles and take advantage of the calm waters of this beach to discover what it hides in its depths.

There was no better way to end the morning. We realize that the bike gives us so many possibilities; exploring new landscapes, feeling the environment, having fun on two wheels, and writing new adventures surrounded by people who share our same passion. So, tell us, what's your next adventure?
